  • Do not include your name anywhere in your submission or in the "Title" field of the application form. Please only include your name in the "Name" field on the application form. Submissions are judged by a blind jury process, so if your name is included on your piece or in any location other than the “Name” field on the application form, your submission will not be considered for publication. (Exceptions may be in order for film submissions. If you have any questions about the inclusion of your name in a piece, please email Scribendi staff as outlined in the “General Guidelines for Submission” section above.)




  • Open media is a new category created to accommodate works that do not otherwise fit the above-mentioned categories.





  • Open media includes, but is not limited to, films, music, graphic novels, textile arts, graphic design, web design, video games, fashion, and architecture.





  • Works submitted to this category that do in fact fit one of the ones above will not be considered for publication.





  • Scribendi limits submissions in the open media category to three (3) titled works.



  • Untitled works will not be considered for publication


  • If you are submitting a music composition, please include sheet music.




  • Each submission must be accompanied by a brief artist's statement of no more than 250 words. Please consider including the intent behind the piece, the creation process, and anything else you would like us to know about it. Do not include your name in this statement.
