  • Do not include your name anywhere in your submission or in the "Title" field of the application form. Please only include your name in the "Name" field on the application form. Submissions are judged by a blind jury process, so if your name is included on your piece or in any location other than the “Name” field on the application form, your submission will not be considered for publication.

  • Visual art submissions may be in any type of two- or three-dimensional artwork, in any medium.

  • Scribendi limits submissions in the visual art category to three (3) works, each of which must be titled.

  • Untitled works will not be considered for publication.

  • All works must be submitted as digital files in .JPG format.

  • Each submission must be accompanied by a brief artist's statement of no more than 250 words. Please consider including the intent behind the piece, the creation process, and anything else you would like us to know about your work. Do not include your name in this statement.

  • If selected for publication, the Scribendi staff will ask you to send immediately a new digital file of your work saved with the following settings: DPI should be 300 or more; image size 8" x 10"; color format should be CMYK, not RGB or other color formats.

  • Files must be sent in the proper format. Files sent in RGB mode will result in incorrect color reproduction.
